    What is an Air Fryer?

An air fryer is a kitchen appliance that uses hot circulating air around the food to rapidly cook and produce crispy and evenly cooked results.  It gives the effects of deep frying but with significantly less oil, making it a healthier cooking option. Air fryers are versatile and can be used to prepare a wide range of foods, including fries, veggies, and even desserts.

    Equipment You’ll Need

You’ll only need a few things to help you make this delicious corn. Here’s what you’ll need:

    • Air Fryer - to cook the corn on the cob.
    • Pastry/Basting Brush - for coating the corn on the cob with the lemon pepper butter.
    • Tongs - to help you rotate the corn in the air fryer.

    Ingredients You’ll Need

This recipe is a quick and easy air fryer recipe to make with only a few ingredients. Here’s what you’ll need:

    • Corn - Fresh corn is used for this recipe however or frozen corn will also work. If using fresh, remove the husks and clean the corn cobs. If using frozen, just make sure to thaw the frozen corn completely before cooking.
    • Butter - melted butter was used however if you prefer to use cooking oil you can. When you put a little  oil on your corn, use a spoon to drizzle it on or brush to coat the corn.
    • Lemon pepper seasoning - this is my favorite seasoning and really makes this corn delicious! You can omit if you prefer or add additional flavors, however you won’t regret trying this out.
    • Garlic powder - for extra flavor.
    • Ground black pepper -  if you want a more “peppery” taste, you can add in additional ground black pepper, to taste.

How to Make the Air Fryer Corn on the Cob

    • Prep the Corn. Shuck and clean the corn. For smaller air fryers, or the size of the corn, you may have to cut them in half.
    • Make the lemon pepper butter. In a bowl, combine the melted butter, lemon pepper seasoning, and garlic powder. Generously coat the ears of corn with the lemon pepper butter.

    • Serve. Remove the corn from the air fryer. Add an extra slice of butter to the juicy corn and serve.

Air fryer for Corn on the Cob in Foil

You can cook the cob in aluminum foil to get a boiled style corn on the cob. Here’s what to do:

    1. Place a slice of butter in the center of each ear, then wrap a piece of foil tightly around the cob.
    2. Place corn in the basket of the air fryer, and cook at 390 degrees F for 10 minutes.  Flip the ears and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes,  or until you have tender corn kernels. You can spot check one of the cobs by piercing a kernel with a fork to see if it’s tender.
    3. Remove the ears from the air fryer basket and keep them wrapped in foil for at least 5 - 10 minutes before serving.

    How to Store and Reheat

    • To store any leftover corn, let them cool to room temperature, place them in an airtight container. They can be stored for up to 3 days.
    • To reheat the corn, microwave the corn in 30 second intervals until warmed.

Tips for Making the Air-Fried Corn

    • Use fresh corn. For best results and great flavor fresh sweet corn works best.
    • Clean the corn.  Make sure to remove the corn husks and silks all the way. Then rinse the corn and dry it with a paper towel before adding the butter to the corn.
    • Air Frying. Air fryer cooking times will vary depending on different brand air fryer model. Be sure to check your corn halfway through to keep from burning your corn. You can also spot check the kernels by piercing them with a fork. The roasted corn kernels are ready when they are tender.
    • Do not Stack or over fill. Make sure there is room between the cobs for the air to circulate and do not stack the corn on top of one another.
    • Frozen Corn on the Cob. Using frozen corn will also work for this recipe, although the best corn to use is fresh sweet corn. You will need to thaw it the day before cooking. You may need to add a few extra minutes when cooking it in the air fryer.
    • Don't have an air fryer?  You can also cook the ears of sweet corn in the oven, as an alternative cooking method, on bake 350 degrees F for 15 - 20 minutes or until tender.
