I’ll admit that sometimes I’m “that person” that doesn’t like something, even when I haven’t tried it. But usually once I do, I love it. I’ve never been a fan of Kale chips, not even when they were a fad. It wasn’t until my coworker told me about it, that I decided to give it a try and make my own.

There are many health benefits to incorporating plenty of dark leafy greens such as kale into your daily diet. This Crispy Kale Chip recipe is a great alternative to store-bought chips but with a fraction of the fat and calories and none of the preservatives and artificial flavors.
Kale Health Benefits
- Kale is a great source of fiber.
- It can help lower cholesterol and promotes a healthy digestive system.
- It’s rich in vitamin A, C, K, folate and B vitamins.
- Kale is also a good source of essential minerals such as potassium, calcium, zinc and phosphorus.
Tips on Making Crispy Kale Chips:
- The key to Crispy Kale Chips is making sure the kale is completely dry before seasoning it.
- Use a little bit of olive oil at a time to coat the kale. Massage it into the leaves, if you need more oil add a little at a time.
- Give the individual pieces of kale space on the pan. If the kale is too wet or overcrowded it will steam, instead of roasting.
So how do we eat more greens such as kale without eating a kale salad every day? My favorite ways to get more dark greens into my diet is by adding a handful to my smoothies or sautéed into a pasta dish and of course finding fun snack ideas like this Crispy Kale Chip recipe.
