    The holiday season brings lots of gatherings and entertaining family and friends. What better way to celebrate than by serving a Sparkling Pomegranate Mocktail as an easy bubbly non alcoholic holiday drink recipe.

    It’s the perfect twist on a classic holiday cocktail, except without the alcohol. This holiday mocktail recipe has all of the holiday colors and flavors.

    What is a Mocktail?

    A mocktail is similar to a cocktail, but without the alcohol. Non-alcoholic drinks are also called virgin drinks. 

    Some choose not to drink for health reasons, religious reasons, or just as a personal preference. Mocktails make a great option for those who cannot or do not drink alcohol. It allows them to enjoy time at a bar, or at home, with friends without having to drink alcohol. But just because mocktails do not have alcohol doesn’t mean they have to be boring. 

    Mocktail recipes can be just as delicious as an alcoholic beverage but with an extra health boost. Aside from omitting the alcohol from the drink, some healthy benefits of a mocktail comes from the juices used to make them which can contain vitamins, antioxidants, and minerals typical alcoholic drinks wouldn’t have.

    This non alcoholic pomegranate cocktail is the perfect combination of sweet and tart. Its bright festive colors make it a delicious and refreshing mocktail that’s perfect for the holidays! 

    The best part is there’s no alcohol included in it. It’s perfect for any party or get-together around the holidays, during Christmas or New Years. You can make it for a few or make it for a crowd and the best part, there’s no bartending skills required! It’s truly an easy mocktail recipe. 

    You’ll also get some good healthy gut probiotics from the pomegranate kombucha used to make these holiday mocktails. You can also use pomegranate juice if you prefer. It's high in Vitamin C, aids in digestion and has anti-inflammatory properties.

    Equipment You’ll Need

    You’ll only need a few things to help you make this pomegranate ginger ale mocktail. Here’s what you’ll need:

    • Cocktail Shaker - to gently swirl the ingredients together
    • Cocktail stirrer - to stir the ingredients together / add pomegranate seeds to glasses 
    • Large Pitcher - to make the mocktails for a crowd
    • Drinkware - to serve the drinks in

    Ingredients You’ll Need

    To make these Christmas mocktails, you only need 5 ingredients. Here’s what you’ll need:

    • Pomegranate Kombucha – for this recipe, i preferred to use a pomegranate kombucha for healthy gut probiotics. I love the flavors of the pomegranate kombucha from Health-Ade. You can also use 1 cup pomegranate juice if you prefer. 
    • Ginger Ale – the brand Fever-Tree is by far the best ginger ale I've ever tried. It’s Non-GMO certified and uses naturally sourced ingredients. It also has no artificial sweeteners or colors. 
    • Lime Seltzer Water – out of all the seltzer waters, Spindrift is my favorite. It's made with real squeezed fruit and it’s Non-GMO and gluten free. If you prefer you can use club soda or sparkling water and top the drink with a squeeze of fresh lime juice. 
    • Simple syrup (optional) – If you prefer your cocktails a bit sweeter, you can also add in some simple syrup, however the drink itself is good with or without it. 
    • Garnishes (optional)  - You can garnish the glass with a sugar rim to make the drink look more festive. The drink is also garnished with pomegranate seeds in the bottom of the glass. You can also garnish with lime wedges for aesthetics.

    How to Make the Sparkling Pomegranate Mocktail

    This healthy mocktail recipe is so easy to put together. Just gather your ingredients and pour for a very merry time.

    1. Fill the cocktail shaker about halfway up with ice. 
    2. Add all of the ingredients, minus the pomegranate seeds, to a cocktail shaker.
    3. Swirl the cocktail shaker gently for about 15 seconds until the cocktail is well chilled.
    4. Add a sugar rim to the class if you’d like. Then toss a spoonful of pomegranate seeds in the bottom of the glass.
    5. Strain the kombucha mocktail into the drinking glass. You can serve it in a coupe glass or champagne flute.

    How to Make this Easy Mocktail for a Crowd

    This recipe makes just one holiday pomegranate mocktail, so be sure to double the quantity for two! If you’re serving it at a party, you can have the pomegranate kombucha, ginger ale and lime seltzer already mixed up in a pitcher and chill it in the fridge so you can quickly make these drinks when ready. Then just top up the glasses with a sugar rim and add the pomegranate seeds before serving.

    Pomegranate juice resembles the taste of cranberry juice. It’s tart with some hints of sweetness.

    Can I make these easy mocktails for a crowd?

    This non-alcoholic cocktail is perfect to prepare in advance for guests. I suggest using a pitcher or whichever large serving container you have on hand to prepare the pomegranate mocktails. You can increase the serving size below to your desired quantity. 

    Mix all of the ingredients for the drink together into the pitcher, except for the pomegranate seeds. Chill the mixture in the fridge until you are ready to serve. When you are ready to serve the drink, add a sugar rim if you’d like, then add a spoonful of pomegranate seeds to the drinking glass and pour the drink into the glass and serve.
